CranioSacral Therapy is used to detect and correct imbalances in the CranioSacral system which may be the cause of sensory, motor or neurological dysfunction.
The therapy is based on the recognition of a physiological system of the body that is palpable to the trained practitioner. The whole body expands and contracts in response to the increase and decrease of cerebral spinal fluid being produced and reabsorbed in and around the brain and spinal cord of the central nervous system.
This subtle rhythm of movement of the body is evaluated by the practitioner. Where restrictions or absence of movement are apparent in the physiology, the skilled practitioner reestablishes motion with gentle, subtle techniques. Symptoms suffered are encouraged to resolve and disturbed body functions are assisted to reestablish normal functions.
